Testimonials

Georgie age 37

I had been having conventional medicine for nerve damage, nerve entrapment, daily nausea and headaches, vomiting episodes, poor bowel movements, menier’s disease and general weakness and fatigue since completing extensive surgery and chemotherapy for breast cancer in 2005.

Conventional medicine had got me back to a certain point but not to a point where I could begin to live a normal life again. I was desperate for this and found Lynne Grant in September 2008. I had no expectations of acupuncture and walked into the clinic in severe pain in my stomach, bent over, holding my side and generally feeling dreadful. After a long chat with Lynne, she applied the acupuncture which was painless. It took me to a place that I have never been to before, a deep relaxing place, quite dreamy and sleepy, is the only way I could describe it. It was the first time since all my problems began that my body felt at peace. When the needles were removed, my headache had gone and my body felt calmer. I went home in no less pain in my side (Lynne had told me that this would be the hardest pain to treat) than I came with, but I felt less nausea, had no headache and felt somehow lifted and motivated again at the possibility that this could help me. The nerve damage that I have means that my body never feels still. I feel this mostly at bedtime when I physically stop but my body continues twitching and buzzing. However, this night, it felt still for the first time in years and the peace I felt was priceless. I continued to see Lynne every week and slowly I have improved to a point that I thought I could never reach. I am holding down my job again, just part time but this is better than I thought I could achieve. I am no longer holding my side in pain, I have straightened up, I have more energy and much, much less of everything else. My colleagues at work, friends and family are amazed at how much better I have become since finding acupuncture.

Lynne Grant is a fantastic practitioner, with a vast knowledge and understanding of the human body. This skill mixed with empathy and friendliness is a rare thing to find and I would have no hesitation in recommending her to you. Acupuncture has changed my life. I look forward to my sessions and the deep relaxation that I feel but mostly to the feeling of wellbeing and the chance to live a normal life, something that traditional medicine doesn’t seem to be able to give me.

I have been having acupuncture with Lynne for over three years now, and look forward to every appointment. I have experienced health problems for a number of years, and have a chronic illness called Behcet's Disease, an auto-inflammatory condition that can have a profound impact on quality of life.

I find Lynne pleasant and friendly, and the acupuncture not only relaxes me, but has helped me to control my condition. I am still able to work, and live life largely as normal, and can engage in sport and other leisure activities. Lynne is a good listener, and likes to try different approaches at different times, in response to how I am at any particular time.

I do not believe that I could ever stop my acupuncture now, as it is a key part of my treatment and lifestyle. It also helps me to de-stress, relax, and feel better about myself. I would recommend Lynne to anyone considering acupuncture.
